Medical English for Healthcare Professionals

Pre-Intermediate A2/B1 – Part 2

This one-to-one course is ideal for healthcare professionals (nurses, doctors, physiotherapists etc.) wishing to improve their Medical English. Please note this is part two of Medical English for Healthcare Professionals. It is recommended to take  Part 1 first.

As with Part 1, this course covers all four of the main language skills: Speaking, Writing, Listening and Reading.

Speaking practice includes clinical handover role play scenarios to discuss patients. Articles are included for Reading practice with a focus on finding and understanding vocabulary. Vocabulary lessons cover verbs related to hospitals and conditions.

Audio files include dialogues for emergency situations, simple medical statistics and clinical handovers. Audio lessons comprise of a variety of exercises designed to improve Listening skills.

Each lesson has a particular language focus to improve grammar. Functional language lessons include clarification vs checking information, passive voice (present, past and future) and a review of past simple, past continuous and present perfect tenses.

Themes for this unit include Accident and Emergency, shift changes and handing over.
